Drop-Off Facilities Near St. Charles

No public transfer station in St. Charles

There is no Kane County-operated public transfer station in St. Charles for household drop-offs. LRS hauls city refuse to their contracted facilities. Nearest Kane County drop-offs are the electronics site in Batavia and the HHW facility in Naperville (see below).

Free pickup weeks (2026): March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13 (free ends April 20).

Kane County residents use the Naperville Regional HHW Facility:

St. Charles enforces nuisance and property-maintenance rules through Community Development, 2 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174. Online reporting via the "Report an Issue" portal on stcharlesil.gov.

  • Adjudication hearings: 3rd Thursday monthly, 5:30pm at the Police Department.

St. Charles has HOA-governed subdivisions on both sides of the Fox River. Vendor rules vary; ask your association before you schedule.

  • Silver Glen Estates: 1980s custom estates on 1-3 acre lots between Randall Rd and the Fox River.
