The Montgomery, IL Junk Removal Guide: Kane + Kendall, LRS, HHW, HOAs
Montgomery straddles Kane and Kendall counties, but LRS serves both sides inside village limits. The county line matters more for HHW routing than for pickup. Here's the whole map.
Montgomery's Waste Hauler: What You're Working With
Montgomery is served by Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) as exclusive residential hauler for the incorporated Village on both the Kane and Kendall sides. Customer service: 844-633-3577, [email protected]. Hours M-F 8am-6pm, Sat 7am-noon.
Yard-waste sticker: $2.62 per bag/bundle (per LRS page) — the Village page lists $2.74 through 7/31/2027 with a 4.7% annual escalator. Discrepancy between the two pages; call 844-633-3577 for the current price.
Bulk items: one bulk item per week free with regular trash (chair, love seat, couch section, small desk, table, kid's bicycle). Carpet up to 8 rolls (4 ft max, 18" diameter) counts as one item. Mattress or box spring MUST be in a plastic mattress cover, taped shut.
Appliances/white goods: one free per week with 48-hour notice. Extras are prepaid.
Electronics: quarterly curbside — second week of January, April, July, and October. Up to 7 items including up to 2 TVs or monitors. Must request 5 weekdays before collection week. Microwaves, batteries, and light bulbs are NOT accepted.
Kane vs Kendall inside Village limits: no difference. Boulder Hill (unincorporated Kendall south of downtown) is NOT LRS — residents there choose Groot, WM, or Nancy & Jerry's Disposal.
