Quick Answer: Yes. Whole-house and full-estate cleanouts are some of the most common jobs Junk Nurse handles. A typical 3-bedroom home takes 4–8 hours with a crew; larger homes may take 1–2 days. Price is assessed by on-site walkthrough — usually $800–$2,500 for residential, more for hoarding-volume.
What “whole house” junk removal means
Whole-house cleanout means clearing every room, basement, garage, attic, shed, and outdoor space — emptying the home of contents that aren’t being kept or sold. It’s effectively an estate cleanout, even when nobody’s died — the process is the same.
Common reasons for a whole-house junk removal:
- Estate cleanout after a death
- Senior moving from family home to assisted living or condo
- Foreclosure or REO property clearing
- Divorce sale — one party leaves, the home goes to market
- Pre-sale cleanout before listing
- Inherited property cleanout
- Hoarding cleanouts (special category)
How a whole-house cleanout works
Step 1: Walkthrough
Alex or a senior crew member meets you (or your designated point of contact) at the property. We walk every room, basement, garage, attic, and outbuilding. We identify what’s being kept, what’s going, and anything that needs special handling (appliances, hazmat, valuables to preserve).
Step 2: Written estimate
We provide a written estimate with the firm price. For multi-day jobs, we break it down by day. You authorize and we schedule.
Step 3: The work
Crew arrives on the scheduled day. We work room by room, typically starting upstairs and working down, ending with the basement and garage. Donatable items get routed as we load. We bring multiple trucks for larger volumes.
Step 4: Final walkthrough
We sweep every space. You walk through with us. The home is empty and ready for listing photos, the next occupant, or transfer to the new owner.

Typical pricing for whole-house cleanouts
- Condo or small townhouse (1–2 bedroom): $400–$900
- Typical 3-bedroom home: $800–$1,500
- Larger 4–5 bedroom home: $1,500–$2,500
- Very large home or high accumulation: $2,500–$5,000+
- Hoarding-volume cleanouts: $3,000–$10,000+, depending on severity
Pricing factors: volume (the biggest one), access (stairs, narrow doorways), special items (pianos, hot tubs, gun safes), and timeline pressure (same-day vs. flexible).
Can it really be done in one visit?
Often yes — for typical 2–3 bedroom homes with moderate accumulation, a 3–4 person crew with multiple trucks can complete in 4–8 hours. Larger homes or homes with full basements and packed garages often run 2 days. Hoarding-level homes run 3–5+ days.
What if I’m not local?
Many of our whole-house jobs are for adult children or executors coordinating from out of state. We can do the walkthrough by video call. We coordinate with the local listing agent, attorney, or family member who has access. We send photos throughout the job. You can pay remotely.
What about valuable items?
Get an appraisal first. We’re a junk removal company, not an estate sale or appraisal company. If there’s reason to believe items have meaningful value (antiques, art, collectibles, jewelry), arrange an estate sale or appraisal before we arrive. We pre-sort donatable items but we don’t evaluate for resale.
