Construction debris doesn’t wait. An active job site producing debris faster than the dumpster fills means you need responsive removal — not 5-day lead times. Junk Nurse works with Aurora-area contractors as an on-call partner: same-day pickups when needed, dumpster delivery on tight schedules, and the documentation general contractors and developers require. Here’s how the relationship works.
Two Service Models for Contractors
Junk Removal (Crew-Loaded)
Our crew arrives, loads debris into our truck, hauls. Best for:
- End-of-project cleanups
- Specific item removal (old fixtures, appliances)
- Small to medium debris volumes
- Sites with no space for a dumpster
- Time-sensitive removal when staging isn’t an option
Dumpster Rental (Self-Loaded)
Roll-off dumpster on site. Crew loads continuously. Best for:
- Active multi-day projects
- Demo phase of renovations
- New construction framing/finish debris
- Sites with adequate space and access
Many contractor projects use both — a dumpster for the main demo and ongoing debris, plus a junk removal pickup at end of project for final cleanup items.

What Construction Debris We DON’T Handle
Hazardous Materials
Asbestos requires licensed abatement (never a regular debris hauler). Lead-painted debris from pre-1978 homes follows EPA RRP rules — the debris itself goes in regular construction loads, but the work must be done by RRP-certified contractors.
Liquid Waste
Paint, solvents, fuels — county hazardous waste programs handle these.
Refrigerant-Containing Equipment Without Recovery
Old refrigerators, freezers, AC units — refrigerant must be recovered first. We coordinate this as part of our service.
Same-Day Service for Contractors
Active job sites need responsive vendors. Junk Nurse prioritizes contractor calls for same-day service when:
- Called before 10 AM
- Job is within standard service area
- Standard volume (not requiring multiple trucks)
For larger same-day needs, we scale crew and equipment as feasible.
Scheduling for Multi-Phase Projects
Standing Schedule Slots
For contractors with predictable debris production (one job site producing debris twice a week, for instance), we set up standing pickup slots — every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, for example. No call required, just shows up.
Project-Based Scheduling
For specific projects, we schedule based on the project timeline:
- Demo phase: dumpster on site, frequent pickups if needed
- Rough construction: minimal removal needed
- Finish phase: smaller dumpster or junk removal pickup
- Punch list: final cleanup haul
Just-in-Time
For contractors juggling multiple sites, just-in-time delivery of dumpsters and pickup of full ones keeps work moving. We coordinate routing to fit your schedule.
Documentation for General Contractors and Developers
COI
$1M general liability COI standard. Naming additional insureds (building owner, GC, developer) on request.
Waste Tracking
For projects pursuing LEED certification or developer sustainability requirements, we provide waste diversion documentation:
- Volume hauled
- Materials separated (metal, concrete, donations)
- Routing to recyclers vs. landfill
- Disposal facility documentation
Billing Documentation
Detailed invoices appropriate for project cost coding. Itemized by date, location, scope. Aligned to contractor billing cycles.
Working With Subcontractors
Many contractors have subs (electricians, plumbers, HVAC) generating debris on the same site. Some questions to coordinate:
- Who’s responsible for sub debris — the sub, the GC, or split?
- Should subs use the same dumpster as the main contractor?
- Who pays for the haul?
We work with whatever billing arrangement the GC sets up — direct to subs, through GC, or split.

- Residential renovation contractors
- Commercial general contractors
- Specialty trade contractors (flooring, roofing, drywall)
