• 1-bedroom condo or apartment: 2–4 hours
• 2-bedroom townhouse or smaller home: 3–6 hours
• Typical 3-bedroom single-family home: 4–8 hours (often 1 day)
• Larger 4+ bedroom home with full basement: 1–2 days
• Very large estate or compulsively kept home: 2–3 days
• Hoarding-volume estate: 3–5+ days

What makes a job faster

• Family has already removed sentimental items, photos, paperwork
• Estate sale has already cleared higher-value items
• Clear walkthrough scope (everything goes vs. ambiguous keep/go)
• Driveway parking close to entrance
• No basement stairs or second-floor walkup
• No items requiring special handling (pianos, hot tubs, refrigerant)

What slows a job down

• Family present and sorting in real time (which we accommodate)
• Items spread across multiple floors and outbuildings
• Hoarding-level volume requiring path-clearing before room-clearing
• Refrigerators, freezers, AC units needing refrigerant recovery
• Tight access (narrow basement door, no driveway space)
• Hazmat findings that need separate disposal coordination

Multi-day vs. single-day scheduling

For larger estates, we usually plan multi-day so the crew works at sustainable pace. A 2-day estate cleanout typically goes basement and garage on day 1, main floor and bedrooms on day 2.

Family pacing matters too. If you want to be present and sort items during the cleanout, multi-day schedule is easier on you.
