The North Aurora, IL Junk Removal Guide: Groot Rules, HOAs, Disposal

North Aurora runs a real Groot contract, a Kane County-hosted disposal system, and one city ordinance. Here's how it actually fits together, and when hiring a hauler is the short path.

North Aurora's Waste Hauler: What You're Working With

North Aurora is served by Groot Industries under a contract that runs June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2031. Customer service: (630) 892-9294. Collection days are Mon/Tue/Wed depending on where you sit relative to Randall Road and the Fox River.

Cart rates (2026, monthly): 95-gal $20.27, 65-gal $19.95, 35-gal senior (65+) $15.00. Extra refuse and yard-waste sticker: $2.75 in 2026 (down from $4.60 under the prior contract).

Bulk items: one bulk item per week is included with regular service. Each additional bulk item takes one refuse sticker. The Village booklet quotes about $25 per cubic yard for oversized bulk beyond the free item.

White goods (appliances): $45 per unit in 2026, rising each contract year to about $53 by 2030. The old fall city-wide cleanup was eliminated starting June 2026, so no free appliance week.

Electronics: not curbside on the regular day. Scheduled by appointment through Groot at (630) 892-9294.
