Quick Answer: Yes — Junk Nurse’s pricing includes 100% of the labor. The crew does every bit of lifting, loading, and hauling. You don’t move a thing. You don’t bag items. You don’t disassemble furniture. You don’t carry anything to the curb. Point at what goes; we handle the rest.
What labor includes
- Lifting and carrying every item from wherever it sits to the truck
- Stairs — basement, second-floor walkups, condo elevators, narrow stairwells
- Disassembly — sectionals, bedframes, exercise equipment, desks, sheds, swing sets, anything that won’t fit out as-is
- Loading — truck packing for safe transport
- Driving — to disposal, donation, and recycling destinations
- Unloading — at each destination
- Sweeping — the cleared spaces before we leave
Some of that you don’t directly see — the unloading, the driving, the donation routing. But it’s all our labor on the clock, and it’s why volume-based pricing works the way it does.
What we bring to handle the labor
- Furniture pads to protect floors and walls
- Dollies and hand trucks for heavy items
- Straps for safe lifting
- Tools to disassemble bedframes, sectionals, exercise equipment
- Sliders to move heavy items across floors without damage
- Runners and floor protection for high-traffic paths
- The crew — trained for safe lifting and team coordination

What you don’t need to do
- You don’t need to bag, box, or sort items. Loose items are fine. We handle organization on the truck.
- You don’t need to disassemble furniture. We bring tools.
- You don’t need to drag items closer to the truck. Pricing accounts for getting items from where they sit to the truck.
- You don’t need to clean items before we take them. We’ll handle whatever’s on them.
- You don’t need to lift anything. Even items you helped carry into the house years ago.
What you do need to do
- Be present for the walkthrough at the start
- Mark anything that should stay (if in doubt, mark it)
- Set aside hazmat (paint, propane, oil) so we don’t accidentally load it
- Secure pets in a room we won’t enter
- Be available for the final walkthrough and payment
Why this matters
The whole reason most people hire junk removal is to avoid the labor. If a company asks you to drag items to the curb, gather everything in one room, or pre-sort, they’ve effectively shifted half the work back to you and you’re paying them for the easier half.
Junk Nurse’s standard: you point. We handle. That’s the deal. For more on what to expect on the job, see What to Expect During Junk Removal and the main Junk Removal Guide.
