How Junk Nurse pricing actually works
We use volume-based flat-rate pricing. That means:
- We measure how much space your items will take in our truck
- We give you a quote based on truck volume (quarter, half, three-quarter, full)
- The quote is confirmed before any work starts
- The quoted price is the price you pay — no surprises at the curb
This is different from per-item pricing (some companies) which adds surcharges for mattresses, appliances, stairs, and other “extras.” With volume pricing, everything is built in.
What affects the quote
- Volume — how much space the items take
- Access — ground floor is fastest; basement, second floor, narrow access adds time
- Disassembly — some pieces (large sectionals, entertainment centers, exercise equipment) need to be broken down
- Heavy items — pianos, hot tubs, water heaters — sometimes priced separately
- Specialty handling — refrigerant-containing appliances (Section 608), electronics (Illinois e-waste rules) — included in volume pricing
How to get an accurate quote
Three options, in order of accuracy:
- On-site walkthrough. We come to your house, look at the items and the access, and give you a firm quote. Best for whole-house, estate, or large jobs. No charge if you decline.
- Photo quote via text. Send photos of the items and the path out to (630) 294-1340. We give you a firm quote within a few hours. Best for most residential jobs.
- Phone description. Tell us what you have. We give you a rough range. Good for budgeting; not as accurate as photos or on-site.
The Junk Nurse difference
Some companies give a low phone quote, then jack up the price at the curb. We don’t. The price we quote is the price you pay. Always.
The exception: if you tell us you have a single sofa and we show up to find a basement full of furniture, we’ll re-quote on-site. You can decline. No trip charge.
