Refrigerator removal pricing breakdown

• Standard side-by-side or French door, ground floor: $100–$150
• Standard fridge, basement: $125–$175
• Mini fridge or dorm fridge: $50–$100
• Chest or upright freezer: $100–$175
• Built-in or Sub-Zero (more disassembly): $150–$250
• Commercial refrigerator: on-site quote, typically $200–$400+
• Two refrigerators (kitchen + garage beer fridge): $175–$275
• Fridge + washer/dryer pair: $275–$425 (cheaper than three separate pickups)

What’s included in the price

• 2-person crew, appliance dolly with stair belt
• Disconnect of water supply line (if applicable)
• Walk-out including stairs
• Hauling
• Section 608 refrigerant recovery at a compliant processor
• Scrap metal recycling of the steel cabinet, copper, aluminum
• $1M liability insurance

What’s NOT included (but rarely an issue)

• Water line repair if a valve drips after we close it (rare; mostly with very old plumbing)
• New refrigerator installation (we’re removal only)

Why some companies charge more for fridges

Section 608 compliance has real costs — the processor charges $15–$30 per unit to recover the refrigerant. Some companies pass this as a separate “appliance fee” or “Section 608 fee” on the invoice. Junk Nurse builds it into the quoted price.

Quick prep before our arrival

• Empty the contents
• Unplug 24 hours before pickup (lets it come to room temperature, prevents drips in our truck)
• Disconnect the water supply if you have an ice maker (or we’ll do it)
• Clear the path from the fridge to the front door
