How per-item estimates translate to volume pricing
If you total the per-item prices above for a typical bedroom cleanout, you might add up:
- Queen mattress: $89
- Box spring: $50
- Bed frame: $75
- Headboard: $60
- Dresser: $100
- Tall chest: $100
- Two nightstands: $80 ($40 each)
- Total per-item: $554
With volume pricing, that same bedroom is typically 1/4 to 3/8 truck — quoted at $200–$325. Roughly half the cost.
This is why volume pricing benefits customers with multiple items. The per-item estimates above are useful for budgeting, but the actual price for a typical cleanout is lower because of how volume works.
When does per-item pricing actually make sense?
For a single small item, per-item pricing and volume minimum pricing converge — both are around $89–$150 for one piece. There’s no real cost difference at the single-item level.
The volume advantage kicks in once you have 3+ items. The more you have, the bigger the savings vs. per-item pricing.
What about premium items?
A few things stay priced separately even in volume jobs:
- Hot tubs, pianos, pool tables (specialty quotes)
- Construction debris (weight-based)
- Excessive scrap metal or concrete
If your job includes any of these, we’ll quote those items separately and add to volume pricing for the rest.
