Quick Answer: Standard rental period is 7–14 days depending on the company. Junk Nurse rentals come with up to 7 days included. Extensions are available at a daily rate. Early pickup is free — call us when you’re done.
Standard Rental Periods
Industry standard rental windows are typically 7, 10, or 14 days. Junk Nurse’s base price includes up to 7 days. Longer periods are available with daily extension fees.
Why Rental Periods Exist
Each dumpster sitting in one driveway is a dumpster unavailable for other customers. Rental period limits help maintain inventory rotation. Also, longer rentals can become a magnet for unauthorized dumping by neighbors.
Extension Fees
Daily extension rates typically run $5–$15 per day depending on the company. Junk Nurse confirms the rate during booking so you know what extending looks like before you commit.
When to Extend vs. Swap-Out
If you need a few more days, extension is cheapest. If you need a week+ more time and might also be near weight limits, a swap-out (full picked up, empty delivered) gives you fresh weight allowance and a new rental window — sometimes the better economics.
Early Pickup
Done early? Call us. There’s no penalty for early pickup, and it frees up inventory. Pickup typically happens within 24–48 hours of your call.
Auto-Pickup at End of Window
If we haven’t heard from you by the end of your standard window, we automatically schedule pickup. If you need more time, call us at least 24 hours before the end of your rental.
Planning Your Rental Window
- Schedule delivery the day before you start loading (buffer for delays)
- Plan loading days around weather and helper availability
- Call for pickup as soon as you’re done — don’t sit on an empty dumpster paying for unused days
