How do you schedule a dumpster pickup?

Two Ways Pickup Happens

1. You Call When Ready

Most common method. Call (630) 294-1340 when you’re done loading. We schedule pickup within 24–48 hours typically. 24-hour notice helps us route trucks efficiently.

2. Auto-Pickup at End of Rental Window

If we haven’t heard from you by the end of your standard 7-day rental period, we automatically schedule pickup for the next available day. No call needed if you’re ready at that point.

What Time Will Pickup Happen?

We provide a pickup window (typically 2–4 hours) rather than an exact time. The driver will call when 20–30 minutes out so you can move cars or be ready if needed.

Do You Need to Be Home?

For most driveway placements, no. The driver can hook up and haul without you present. If you have specific concerns about pickup access or want to verify the load before pickup, schedule a window when you’ll be home.

What to Do Before Pickup

• Make sure the load doesn’t exceed the rim of the dumpster
• Remove any locks from the rear gate
• Clear vehicles from the truck’s path
• Move any boards or covers off the top of the dumpster

What Happens If the Load Is Above the Rim

Overfilled loads can be refused for pickup. Options if your driver finds overfill:

• Remove excess debris immediately, pickup proceeds
• Reschedule pickup after you remove excess
• Pay an overfill fee (varies by company)

Same-Day Pickup Requests

Sometimes possible if you call early in the morning. Subject to route capacity and inventory needs. Junk Nurse tries to accommodate same-day pickup but can’t guarantee it.

Cancelling a Pickup Request

If you called for pickup but realized you need more time, call us back as soon as possible. If we haven’t dispatched the truck yet, we can reschedule. Same-day cancellation after dispatch may incur a trip fee.

What If You Need a Swap-Out Instead?

Mention it when you call. Swap-out = full dumpster picked up, empty one delivered. Reset your rental window, fresh weight allowance. Schedule 24+ hours ahead when possible.

After Pickup: Final Steps

1. Dumpster goes to transfer station for weighing and disposal
2. Final invoice generated (matches original quote if you stayed within weight allowance)
3. Overage charges added if applicable
4. Payment processed

Weekend and Holiday Pickup

Junk Nurse picks up Monday through Saturday. Sunday is closed. Schedule your pickup window accordingly — Friday afternoon calls may not get Monday pickup if Sunday isn’t an option.

Final Tip

Don’t sit on a full dumpster. Call for pickup as soon as you’re done. There’s no benefit to paying for unused rental days, and freeing inventory helps us serve other customers in the Fox Valley.
